Oh my God. I have never been more embarrassed for a group of people as I am some of my high school friends on Facebook going off about Obama being the Anti-Christ. Wow. Did your parents really teach you to hate so well? Amazing.
Here is what I hate...IGNORANCE. I hate it in every color it comes in.
Know what else I hate? People who think they got a hold on Jesus cause their pastor is Republican. One chick on Facebook doesn't seem like she's all that happy in her all consuming Christianity. She is self righteous, scripture is SPAT out at you on a daily basis (Until I quoted her some Jesus talking about Pharisees which fit her so well she took me off her friends list. Good fucking riddance NUT JOB.) Her whole thing is I'M A CHRISTIAN I'M A CHRISTIAN AND BUSH IS A CHRISTIAN.
Honey....calm down. A christian doesn't stand under a banner of God and then kill like the Son of Sam for oil.
That's clue number one.
And p.s If Bush and an all Republican Congress, Senate, and Supreme Court couldn't overturn Roe v Wade it ain't never gonna happen.

Anyway. I've stopped argueing with people about it. If you would still fight for that party after all that has happened to us then your just a moron. Your treating politics like a football game. Your voting for someone cause they match your skin tone. It's scary.
I myself was a Clinton girl. I was so anti Obama. The main reason was that he wasn't SAYING ANYTHING. He was serving up a heaping bowl of hope.
And last I checked Heaping Bowls of Hope don't pay the mortgage.
He was insulting me by bringing up Martin Luther King. You don't bring up Martin Luther King just to ride his coat tails. You HAVE GOT to have a plan. And my country needs a PLAN more now than it has since the great depression.
The suddenly...he started telling us his IDEAS. He started speaking about them, debating them and writing about them. Ideas that made sense for the MAJORITY of the public.
Not just the black public.
The MAJORITY.
Not the Texan public who carry Dooney's and live in shacks and vote like "they gonna be rich some day." The public.
But unfortunately there is a whole bunch of people in the south WHO CAN'T READ so they get their education from Rush Drugbaugh who tells them that Obama is going to take your tax money and give it to the poor.
Uh no.
He's going to give you A BIGGER AMOUNT OF MONEY BACK ON YOUR TAX RETURN. Unless you make a quarter of a million (which not a damn one of you do) then he is going to make you pay the same thing you did in the 90's for our roads and schools.
Except now? Interest rates are WAY LOWER THAN THE 90'S SO IT WILL EVEN OUT YOU QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLAR MAKING DIPSHITS. (all that money and no brains. so sad).
And let's just dispel some other moronic rumors while we're at it.
Obama is not a muslim (There is no DNA strand that passes on religion from the father to the son.)
Obama is not the antichrist (I know those evangelical are desperate to die and get out of their Visa bill because they have had him coming every Easter since I was little.)
Obama does sing the national anthem (And really...could you stop falling for every f'ing email rumor. It's tiresome the inability to think for ones self).
Obama does say the pledge of allegience. (Sucks to be wrong on that huh?)
Obama was born in America. (Unlike John McCain)
Once I made my decision I voted and then I wore my Obama button all over town. On Halloween a lady threw candy at my daughters head. Another good ole boy type threatened to spit on me.
Really? Your fucking president is NOW OUR HISTORIES WORST PRESIDENT EVER and your going to spit on ME?
Now that is funny.

I guess that gives me the right to vote and wear whatever I want.
Because I'm an American. And I took advantage of the free education that was offered up in the public school. I don't get my facts from teevee and shock jocks.
I get my facts from history.
American History.
And history teaches that the defintion of madness is doing the same thing in the same way over and over and expecting a different result.

A few months, I was in Seattle and came home with an Obamba sticker that I displayed proudly on my fridge. "You can't vote there, why..." those that came over and noticed it. My response was that it was just right to show my support in any way as someone who visits Washington State frequently. It felt just right. Well, you should have heard the talk at the office, and the parties celebrating Tuesday night. Suddenly it seemed everyone was thrilled with the new US presiedent as I was.
Just wanted to let you know if Canada had been able to vote the popular vote would have been the biggest landslide ever. And, oh, I still like your blog alot and am always glad when you've added a new post! Intellegent strength - more people like you are needed around.

I think you have a HUGE right to say something about American elections. I think it's time that American's recognize their impact on world economies. If anyone doubts the significance of our elections on their lives just watch the world markets after the Dow tanks. As the old saying goes "When America sneezes....the world catches cold."

We'll see if the tax increases are limited to the $250k range. Historically when dems raised taxes the increases affected the tru middle class and dipped down low enough to affect teachers, carpenters, mechanics, etc.
Also, Obama, while in my mind is undoubtedly American was not born on U.S. soil.

Well unless you have secret access to information that even the McCain camp and the Republican machine didn't have access too..then your just wishing. And really? If we're going to talk "traditionally" we might add that "traditionally..Republican's got us in a useless war, mired us in debt and tried to destroy the middle class while helping their buddies. They've also traditionally been the most corrupt" We're in the middle of a depression NOW. Bet all those evangelical losers are crying for a stained blue dress now. That's the LEAST of their damn worries.
